Diary of a Student Nutritionist - Why Am I Writing This Blog Series?

Why are you sharing a diary?

I would like to tell you about my journey into studying to become a nutritionist as I really didn't know what a nutritionist was really capable of before I started training. I would like to start to change peoples ideas of what a nutritionist is and that it is not just about changing someone's diet when they have a food intolerance or helping with weight loss but looking to get to the underlying root cause of why a persons body/mind is not functioning as they would like. It is about understanding how the whole of a persons mind and body are connected through hormones, blood, lymph, bones, ligaments, etc that should all ideally work like an orchestra and what happens to each one when one of them isn't playing the right tune. It is about looking for the straw that broke the camels back and it is looking for and helping to manage all of the things that continue to keep the body/mind off balance.


I will share my thoughts and feelings over the next year about my journey as a final year student nutritionist. I will also go back and tell you about my journey that lead me to start the course and what it was like in years one and two. There will be ups and downs but I am so excited to learn more and to be able to go forward with my knowledge to help other people once I graduate.
