Golden milk (turmeric latte) recipe
Ingredients
500ml milk of choice (dairy, oat, almond, coconut)
1 tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp cinnamon
1 pinch black pepper
1 tsp grated fresh ginger or ½ tsp ground ginger
2 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional)
Two drops vanilla essence (optional)

Method
Warm the milk gently in a small pan (avoid boiling the milk).
Whisk in the turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and black pepper.
Simmer gently for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
Stir in honey/maple syrup if using, pour through a tea strainer or muslin cloth into mugs, and enjoy.
Notes
Coconut milk creates a creamier, naturally sweet ‘latte’.
Sprinkle the top with a little extra cinnamon or nutmeg for display purposes.
It took me a while to get to like this drink. Be careful not to add too much turmeric, don’t over-sweeten, and pour through fine sieve to improve texture.
